Irma Boom makes tiny, impeccable models of her books. I love how changing the scale can create such a more intimate experience for the viewer. Their role shifts from viewer to more of an interactive role on account of the extra effort required to view it.
The design is executed so thoroughly that it takes away from any “gimmicky” quality making a tiny book might have. The book even sits normally within a standard bookshelf through the packaging.
I am running into difficulty designing a small book so perfectly. I believe part of the issue is that my book has substantially less pages, and will be a much smaller run. The plastic cover is a good, easy way to up the feeling of this book.
